Its has been awhile, yet again. Oh well, this should be an interesting one I hope?
My 3 weeks back in Singapore has been a blast! Simply amazing stuff! Heh.
Before that, shall give a quick update, I don't want to repeat myself anymore to everyone I meet, pretty tiring.
After my 9 months 9 days training in Australia, which is actually my BWC, aka Basic Wings Course, where they'll stream us into the different platforms like fighters, transport or helicopters based on performance and capabilites.
A lot of things have happened there, to cut it short, I didn't make the cut to be a fighter pilot and thus becoming a helicopter pilot. But to make it sound a little nicer and also to feel better, I was the overall top 5 in the course. In such a highly competitive course I was in where 15 out of 18 of us made it, which is quite a statistic.
The percentage of passing for that course is usually ranged from 40-60%. Bare in mind my immediate senior and junior course, had 7 out of 18 graduants and 8 out of 18 potential graduants (course not completed yet). Of course their number is within the statistics, in short my course really rocked. We sure did! =p
So out of 15, we were streamed into 6 fighters, 2 transport and the rest helicopter. The fighter course of course being the most prestigious course followed by helicopter then transport. Despite being 5th, I was naturally in the standing to be a fighter pilot. However, I was taken out due to my poor low G' tolerance.
To touch on it the G' issue, its like those you see on tv, people being put in machines that spin in circles, supposingly to impose gravitational forces on you and see how you cope with it. I did pretty badly for it.
So its not like I don't have the flying capability or what, but just unable to make the cut in that area. So and thus streamed into helicopters. Today, I just started my Advanced course, hitting the books on everything about helicopters and the new aircraft type we're going to fly, which is the EC 120.

It is a recently acquired aircraft by the airforce for rotary training, people like me, has a glass cockpit and really top of the class technology instruments.
From here on, I'll be studying all about the aircraft for the next 2months, before 5 months of training, which is flying over Singapore! =p After which, graduate and finally a full fledged pilot to be operationally ready. That will be around July I think!
Of course there is still the possibility of getting axed/chopped/dismissed from this course. There's two train of thoughts like nothing is confirmed until I get my wings or what makes you think they'll show you the door after having come so far and invested so much time and money on you?
I'll stick to "Never count your chickens until they're hatched". Which also explains why I have yet to own a car, which many of my guys have. I feel that they're spending money that coming in the future but not looking at the situation now. What if, and I mean what if we get axed? I'll be just a university student with no money to support the car!
Okie, that explains more or less my last 9 months 9 days and coming 7 months.
Haven't been able to meet up with all my friends, mostly due to their examinations and stuff, well good luck to all. I'll see you all like really soon, exams will be done in a week or two!
I can't imagine I typed so much, but its to make up for all the missing gaps for the past few months? =D
