Thursday 29/03:

Feeling really nice today, so I was everywhere helping anyone who needed help.

1) Did the planning board for the flag & ration guys.

2) Stand Ops A duty for a while.

3) Carried new bought rations to the tea room.

4) Collect money for the dining in.

5) A few more...

Pizza during lunch was great, simple and nice. Flying was at a minimal, so most of the day was just doing your own stuff.

Interview together with Benjamin by Cpt Phang, talked about interesting things about ourselves. To think that we even talked about my sailing days! Haha I must go pick it up again once I get back! Those were great memories...

Supposed to meet Cpt Phang with the four of us, ended up with only me. Zihao no where to be found, Benjamin lowering flag and Raymond doing some work. Had a 1 to 1 talk with him, though only a while but it was good.

Shortly after he left with Cpt Yip for the pilot display thingy for RAAF, I sat in with boss and some seniors under the umbrella. Listening to what boss was saying and stuff. Though he may be pretty scary at times, especially during working hours, actually he's nothing like that. Its just that his job requires him of.

Didn't eat much today, maggi noodles. No appetite. Tomorrow still must wake up at 5am to do duty again, I freaking just did my fair share of duty on Monday la! Unfair isn't it? (By right rotation takes about 1.5weeks for one cycle) But if its required for me to graduate from here, I'll do it, no qualms about it.

Zhimei if you're reading, hope that whatever I spoke to you the other day, will somehow open up your eyes and feel better. What goes around, comes around...

Been blog hopping, feeling a little sore not able to attend the concert. Looking through the contents, photos and talking to you all really felt as if I missed something big. Almost like missing my family. Oh well... Only thing to look forward to is the recordings...

Wednesday 28/03:

Horrific discovery today. While washing up in the toilet, saw a small tiny strand of white hair popping out from the thick sea of black hair!!

Disaster!!! Hey I know its stressful here but not to the extent that white hair starts to grow out right? Who knows more may be coming but just I haven't spotted or don't want to spot at all!

Its like Oh My Goodness la...!

Other than that, my day of no flying, partly because of the almost exceedance hours in the contract with AES, I spent half the day doing Ops duty. Didn't get to eat lunch at the OMA too... =(

Ran into some problems with the projector thingy, seriously don't know what to do with my laptop problem man... But I guess I've come to a final solution with it already...

Anyway, just want all you people that my flying is really suffering. As mentioned I'm the weakest student among the 4 of us under the same instructor. Don't even know where to start all the corrections and remedy actions. Almost as if just waiting to get 'chopped'... Should have 1 more week of no flying to do something about it, we'll see how it goes...

One more thing to note, the 'chopping board & knife' is out already, 1 of my coursemate going for check flight with OC, another just flunk the sortie I'm doing next. When things seem okiee, actually in a blink of an eye, its time to pack all your things and go...

Tuesday 27/03:

Ridzuan's 21st birthday was nothing more than just nothing at all! How sad! I feel like strangling him and other guys like Wei Lun, come on la its the celebration of adulthood man... At least celebrate something la...

So disappointed with them, when I get I'll sort them out, also arrange something to make it up.

They love warm milk! =p

Monday 26/03:
3rd flight was horrible.hhh
Veering off runway on t/o roll, didn't do the G's of departure, didn't head the R/T call properly from Pearce App, instrument chasing, not sticking to my heights, fighting controls with instuctor, sortie preparation not up to standard, not giving +ve attitude towards learning (always seem so tired), airex mostly following through unable to learn and lots more.
Sigh...

Sunday 25/03:

Goodbye Day Light Saving, Hello Singapore-Perth timing! Since Sunday this morning, midnight, our area here have been officially reverted back to Singapore's time! Which also means time stopped for an hour at midnight, locally.

Which also means an hour more of Trying Luck! Rule of the thumb, fold when you got nothing and do not try to bluff your way. Yet another positive return this weekend even though I ended pretty early, 2am instead of the usual 5am.

Had lunch with a short 5 continuous episodes of Naruto, something which I have to time to enjoy at all ever since coming over.

Thought Kakashi & Jiraiya was going to show some power, but seems like the Genins are getting better... Darn!

Haha 133Bwc coming this Sunday!

1) No longer the lowest lifeform.

2) Have people greeting you senior.

3) Handing over all the duties we ar currently holding but also at the same time receiving new ones from the immediate seniors but of less manpower, time and effort required.

Saturday 24/03:

This is the best day of the week. Something to always look forward too! First thing was to get some games going!

Coincidentally, met up with an old online pal, Sean, as usual we owned!

Seems like Summer is also over and the cold season is coming in pretty soon. Lots of rain, clouds, and freezing nights. I was kinda cold last night that I used my flying gloves to keep my hands warm, LoL.

Hopefully we can book out pretty soon. I kinda forgot that I didn't bring much winter clothings over. Don't even have long pants other than my jeans, warm socks to sleep with, gloves as mentioned previously but I do have a jacket. Good luck!

Monday - Friday 19/03 - 23/03:

Shall sum up this whole week. Finally the day to rest, after two continous days of flying programmes. Had Cpt J Lim for OFT4, who was really nice to teach me lots of things, flight with Cpt Phang was a pretty disappointing.

Not only did I missed some checks, but with Cpt Too waving at me after overtaking us at the Eor bay was really infuriating. If I was Cpt Phang, I would be embarassed. However still glad to have him as my primary instructor.

Flying through clouds was pretty scary, with the inability to look ahead and the thought of mid-air collision really sends chills down spines. Can only hope the ATC guys are doing a good job with the separation of all the aircrafts.

Lots of things to be done, the usual duties and committments, overall okie but performance lacking. All the 4 students under Cpt Phang, I seem to be the lowest scoring one on te grades. However he does treat me differently from what I've heard from the others, during preflight, flight and post flight.

Perhaps there's more to it than just that.

Above all things, I very much still miss everything back home. Tell me "Quando, Quando, Quando..."

Friday 16/03:

Today was kinda a 'shooting' day. The EOWD session was like a firing squad to us, guess we deserve somehow too. All the mistakes that we have chocked up for this whole week. I too have a part in it, extras incoming!

Tonight was a special one, instead of the usual mess night, we had dining in. Kinda like a formal eating session, where you must adhere to so many things!

1) Seat properly
2) Put napkin on lap
3) Eat in small amounts
4) Scoop soup outwards
5) No slurping of soup
6) Correct utencils
7) Fork & Knife usage
8) Be polite
9) Pass both salt & pepper even when people ask for one only
10) Blah blah blah...

But I enjoyed the night, at least we didn't have to clear up everything, but have to pay around A$60 bucks for the dinner. Change is always welcome!

After all the seriousness was over, Joel, Louis and I started to talk about our own personal stuffs. Even though we have known each other for long, but we didn't know much in particular. So the 3 of us was at some corner talking about ourselves.

Love, Life, Relationships, Bad/Good deeds, Plans, Money and Women.

Joel (The Chef) & I

Took a nice walk back after the function, down to try luck almost immediately! Haha lost A$150! Tactic applied today is so-so wrong!

Saturday 17/03:

Nothing much, studied a little for tomorrow's discussion topics, casino opened very early today. My night was free, so went to try my luck again! Got back last night's and even topped it up! =p My sister called me in the middle of the session and knew I was at it again! LoL!

Earnings for the night =p (1 chip = A$10)

Had dinner at Foo Yin's just outside base, and it totally made my day!

What a sight! =p

Sunday 18/03:

Went out to Bullsbrook to top up my card, bought some grocery and stuff. Spent the day cleaning and packing up. Realised I can be independent by myself, when I always wanted to be in the first place.

Bedsheets, clothes, food, well-being, financially, and of course the rest. But of course I would prefer to have my family, friends back in Singapore, decent food, no worries of any bills except personal ones thanks to my dad.

But I'm really surviving on my own pay and stuff already, gone are the days where I would just go up to my dad and get allowance, or claim certain things from my mum like transport and stuff.

Soccer was really fun today, Ian, Ivan, Chee Wee and I totally defeated all challenges that came against us as a team. Fine play, teamwork and goals!

I leave you with some pictures to enjoy!

The Door i walk everyday w/o fail...

The Finest... I Like It! =p

I don't know what I should be thinking of now...

Wednesday 14/03:

"EGLE 647 Cleared For Take-Off."

"Cleared for Take-Off, EGLE 647."

Power up.

Check engine parameters.

"Clearance I have, permission to roll Sir."

Clock start, Brakes release and VROOM!

My first official sortie today! Feels almost like home, except I felt a little queasy and uneasy. Its because I haven't not flown ever since last last September.

I Love It.

Other than flying, I had to wake up at 5am to do duty. Hmmm also forget to lower to flag as I was having post-flight briefing with Cpt Phang. Not sure if whether I would have to sign extra. Regardless of that, only thing on my mind is flying!

Last night had a initimate talk with Raymond and Zihao respectively. For Raymond was about his family and girlfriend stuff, nothing much, lucky him. Fancy having a girlfriend 2-3months before coming over. I'm praying for them to still be together throughout the whole duration. I'm envious to some extent of how loving they are. (Sometimes my hairs stands...)

For Zihao, I wish him the best for his pursuit. I feel blessed somehow that they shared many of their personal stuffs with me. In return, also because I was in the mood too, I shared some of my past experiences with them, especially with the one whose picture is on my laptop.

Interested to find out who? If you come over, I'll gladly show you the background, but of course I know none would be able to do that. Haha. Just a small challenge, also to answer all the guessing and questions that you guys and girls keep asking.

Just in case:
130 SQN - RSAF FTS
RAAF BASE PEARCE
BULLSBROOK
WA 6084

Haha, I'm so high now. But more preparations needed to be done for the upcoming ones.

Tuesday 13/03:

Finally planned to fly again tomorrow, pretty sure nothing will be in my way this time, weather, availability of a/c and stuff, NO WAY.

Regardless of how it'll turn out, I'll take it, from here onwards no stopping me. Haha I think I may even be planned to fly on Thursday or Friday, at least for one more sortie, preferably on Friday so got some time to prepare!

Summary to today, short OFT for Joel, cut lots of paper, some reflections of yesterday's readings, attended Zi Hao's post flight with CPT Phang, do Ops A duty with lots of incident, total chaos, wasted time being a Veh Comd, kinda agitated with that stuff and to top it up, I need to get up early at 5am to do Flag & Ration... -.-

Of all the days to do duty, only on the days where I'm planned to fly...

Monday 12/03:

Not planned to fly tomorrow, also good as I ran through the slides for medium level turn and stalling. Made good progress and read my book too.

Glad I had the opportunity to talk to many on msn last night, days like this are rare, I used it well indeed.

Take care my friends!

Saturday 10/03:

What a week we had.

Totally no flying for myself and many others. Why?

Because of mother nature.

After last night of gambling, woke up around noon to go lunch with Joel, Louis, Raymond, Benjamin, Alvin and Zheng Nan at Rosie's Chicken. Had 3 big pizza, pack of fries, mixture of fish and calamaris and a big pack of chicken.

One word sums it all: Satis. (Means satisfied, its a short form used here in squadron.)

Finally able to update all these and pay my bills, life without my laptop would b disastrous!

Friday 09/03:

Flight got cancelled because of lack of aircraft! Just when the weather was great! And of all the people to cancel, why me?

Still waiting fo my first flight up in the air...

During happy hour in the mess, we had barbeque, practically standing there almost all the way to cook stuff till we ran out of food. As usual not enough to feed all, that's because of insufficient funding, but that's not in my area of concern. Mine is for the balancing and ultimately positive account of my guys' money. =p

We caught a really nice movie during mess too! The Right Stuff, movie about the space race between America and Russia and Astronauts. Really enriching history stuff! As usual, only about near 1am then back in accomodation block.

Tried the projector we borrowed from AES on my laptop and it works! YEAH! Apparently its just my LCD screen having problems, thank whoever who blessed me that all my documents and stuffs are all safe in one piece! Must buy a backup ad keep it somewhere already!

The problem is getting it fixed when we're all being confined to progress check, how long do I have to use my laptop using a projector screen? Even though watching a movie through it is like totally cool! Hmmm...

Tried my luck again! Heh, I was smiling while sleeping, just you all know what that means! =p

Thursday 08/03:

Got up to yet another super hot hot day. Temperature peaked at 40 degrees celcius at 11pm, there goes my first flight again! Nooo...!

Did night ops again, even though we had late in time today but I still feel really lethargic throughout the whole night ops duty. Got back about midnight and straight off to sleep!

Wednesday 07/03:

The Day that my dear Laptop failed on me! WHY?

No laptop = No internet = No access of all my music, pictures, notes, studying materials and everything else! ARGH!

Apparently weather reports are showing two cyclones north of us, one of them tracking left and the other southeast. Which may interfere with our operations!

Which also mean it would be my first experience of such a weather phenomenon! Scary huh? Just praying that we won't have the chance to 'see' it.

First flight cancelled again, because of super high temperature of over 40s. The weather is totally nuts here!

Night ops was kinda interesting, totally different from the usual day ops that we do. But reaching back in our rooms only after midnight is not funny. Really.

Tuesday 06/03:

Finally planned to fly tomorrow. Rushed to go through all that I need to know, preparing and stuff. Really excited, words can't describe of how I'm feeling now. I'll let you all know about how it went!

Monday 050307:

Happy Labour Day for Australia = Day off for us.

Good timing too, seriously needa break after that big thing last week. Quick recap because I still have more things to do.

Woke up at 1pm by Ben and gathered to do a course discussion on the future sorties to come. All the way till 4pm where we went back to squadron to do COP. After that a nice dinner at Airmen Mess and some pizzas with half of Deathnote 1 before yet another meeting of this coming week's duties.

Played a little soccer and was on a winning streak with Wei Hong, Shawn and Joel until I had to be kicked right in the face at the area of my right eye. Why did that happen? Apparently some people don't understand what is high boot and mind you I was heading the ball, means I was in the air. Imagine how high the ball and leg was to be head on towards my face?

Swollen, a big cut on the eyelid and pain similar to someone applying pressure around my right eye. Just praying that it'll be alright after tomorrow.

Sunday 040307:

Happy Birthday Hwaee & Fook Meng! Both same age, two worlds apart. =p

Managed to chilled the first half day with some nice pasta, wonderfully cooked beek from master chef Joel, white chicks movie, Company of Hero and some funny tv shows.

Had yet another group discussion, after which I talked to Jeraldine over the phone. Poor girl down with all the common sickness. Which I could do something. Just these few days the weather has reverted back to hot again. How sick it the weather be?

I simply adore the stars, cloudless sky showing the countless stars shining above you. She said she envied me, I said I envied her able to be surrounded by Hdb flats, because that's home! =p

Played CoH with the guys and played poker and blackjack all the way till 6am. Managed to win A$250 in all, which more than enough covers the A$140 I lost last week and also continue to add on to my overall winnings.

Saturday 030307:

After such an inspiration talk by dy course commander John Tan, I got up and dived into my books straight away. Amazing isn't it? I reflected back and learnt a really good life lesson from him and the mistake.

Good Decisions

Experience

Bad Decisions

If I have the time I'll share it with you all, not here and now.

Dinner was good, duck and roast pork with rice. Shawn went out to buy this morning after getting the car fixed. First of many group discussion today, went out well but a little long. Soccer was good, let off steam and some exercise before Ippt which is just around the corner.

Friday 020307:

Kinda sucky day. During mess hour I had instructors making fun of me and stuff, but its normal I guess after becoming infamous for what have happened. However the day ended out right.

My course commander, John Tan, someone whom I never had the initiation to go talk with, had a talk with me outside the mess area. I guess it was probably because of all the things have happened. Well, what more could I say.

Just glad that I screwed up, if not I would not have even talked to him and know him better. Right now in this crucial phase, no more screw ups or its down to the chopping board.

Thursday 010307:

Finally I'm not flying simulators tomorrow, so so tired, can't wait for the weekend to come!

So glad today is over too, firstly I cleared my OFT3 (simulator) after failing it yesterday. Yes you didn't read or see wrongly, i failed the same profile yesterday.

Didn't realise failing could be so serious. Now I know, but too late too. All's been done, so now have to work even harder which could have been easily avoided.

Wednesday 280207:

Basically the whole day was all about me failing my OFT3. Messing up on the preflight brief, checks and departure wasn't there, and the worst part of it making a nice instructor sad.

What went wrong?

Words can't really describe what actually went on, including the inteview of OC A Teo, Cse comd and Cse Ic.

I also realised what kind of person I am, and I'm so disappointed. Even though I knew, the constant lie to myself really made it worst. So bad that I thought it was already the fact.

Being here ain't just about the flying, is also about everything else. Especially the one area that I truly lack in, and that's where I should get the best out of my stay here.

Tuesday 270207:

Doing simulators with Too Y is so scary, its like oh my god. The way he peers at you and also converses, just gives me the chills. Anyway it went quite well, except for some lapses here and there.

Monday 260207:

Revamp of EODD, instead of a short and sweet affair, now a more detailed and lengthy affair. I feel certain things that some of the guys say can really be omitted, just have to keep repeating it on and on and on. Goodness.
